In conclusion, I would just like to say I've been mentoring several bloggers for a while and it is important to know that the work of a blogger whose url has only 10 hits can be ranked alongside a blogger whose url has 10,000 hits or more. I would like other would-be writers and bloggers to benefit from the fact that I am a bestselling novelist (`Vegemite Vindaloo', published by Penguin) and career journalist with almost 30 years' experience in writing, editing, design, newspaper technology and production.

I managed to figure it out after 3 hours of head-scratching and major profanity use. Will carry on though, and look forward again to next week.

Your listing motivates me to keep blogging, amid all the busy things I have to do (dancing, spying, gardening, tissue-issuing, navigating, mentoring small Bears...etc. etc.)
One thing I was going to ask was- how many posts do you think is best to have on the 'front page'? I've changed mine to 4 days' worth. Sometimes I visit a blog that has dozens and dozens and I get a bit put off as it scrolls down so far. Other times I see a really good blog and it's short, and I don't see where to go to next....
It's hard to know if you've got the balance right....

Still chuckling at BT Bear's "tissue issuing". Wishing that I would have said it first. Not sure how I would have used it in a sentence. But I'd think of something.

If you managed to incorporate video after just three hours, you're doing pretty darn well.
By the way EJ Samadhi Whitehouse (she's on the list as well, at # 49) wanted to know how to load video. Since I've never done it, would you be able to click on her link and give her some tips? She would be extremely grateful, I'm sure.

ReplyDeleteIt's well deserved, if I may say so. I love the phrase ``tissue-issuing'' and so does Deborah Gamble (see below).
How many posts? Purely a personal thing. I reckon more is good. Regular visitors will check out your site anyway, irrespective of how many posts you have.
But casual visitors and first-time visitors (I reckon) would like to see at least 6-8 posts to make up their mind whether to return to your site.
