Locate-A Loo Text Message Service
Don't worry about being caught short in London. First came SatNav for lost drivers. Now there's "SatLav," a toilet-finding service. Westminster City Council recently launched a new mobile phone text message service that will guide Londoners and tourists to their nearest public lavatory. Anyone who sends the word "Toilet" to 80097 will receive a reply giving details of their nearest public convenience. Student Gail Knight, 26, came up with the idea for an innovation competition run by the council.
FOOTNOTE: It's lav at first sight.
You have to be flushed, cos it costs 20p for one pee.
ReplyDeleteI thought that's what bushes and back alleys were for..
ReplyDeletewhen you gotta go, no matter where you go.
ReplyDeleteI thought at first you were going to tell us it's a MOBILE loo, like callin' for a taxi!
ReplyDeleteNow THAT would be an "emergency-service", indeed---complete with lights and siren!
This is an especially brilliant idea for us ladies as we always are in need of a loo. :o)

I like Bradley's footnote. LOL!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting.
Could be really helpful, especially for pregnant women and potty training kids.
What a fabulous idea! Some cities have you running begging favors from shop owners (ahem, Rome ). And I'll pony up the 20p-- London loos aren't too bad.
ReplyDeleteK.
okay...that's kinda strange...
ReplyDeleteOh damn, that is cool. I can't tell you how many times I've had to go but couldn't find a public toilet. Once in Germany i found one with an attendant, but he wasn't there, so I went ahead and hit the john. In bid dump this bastard comes bangin' on the door wanting his money.
