Have The Martians Come To Take Me Away?
Photographs copyright: DAVID McMAHON
It might look like there's some alien craft hovering above me, but it's just the normal view of the sky from one of the alleyways at Clarke Quay in Singapore. The picture below gives you a completely different perspective of the same "sky umbrella" and the cloudy Singapore skyline, taken from across Read Bridge.
Funny that, Ive just reported to the Police of an Abduction case of a one David Mcmahan haha. lol.
ReplyDeleteSee my Sky watch and Angel wings.
Those are gorgeous shots, David. Thanks for posting more from this place again. When I went looking for Clarke Quay, after your earlier post on the two colored corner, I saw these same sky umbrellas in many different views. They must make for fascinating photography experiments. Bet you had a lot of fun taking those shots!
ReplyDeletePeace!
Hi Stewart,
ReplyDeleteI hope the Plods said they were going to come looking for me!!
Keep smiling
David
Hi Lee,
ReplyDeleteYes, I remember that you Googled Clarke Quay - it's an amazing place for a photographer.
Yes, I have many more shots to come. I took 1000 photographs in a day and a half in Singapore!
Keep smiling
David
Hi David! I was looking through your pictures yesterday and thinking what great pictures of unusual things you post. Today's sky pictures are great also. Mr. Linky is up if you'd like to sign in.
ReplyDeleteI posted a UFO also but it's on my Thursday's post.
Couldn't help but laugh at Imac's comment!
Gosh I could use one of those in the summer over here - it could cover the whole house :) Great angle and composition David.
ReplyDeleteHi David, I never have see such a sky umbrella. It must be very interest to do a lot of shots near this fascinating subject. I' m sorry, but my English isn' t good. But I try to be better one day!
ReplyDeleteHave a great New Year!

Bye bye,

That is so cool! It really does look like an alien space craft, or at least what I imagine one would look like.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful structure! Makes for a very interesting subject!
ReplyDeleteI got a big kick outta that! Thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for stoppin' by, too.
What does a sky umbrella do? Does it keep the rain out? I've never seen such a thing.
ReplyDeletep.s. been enjoying all your shots from Singapore...I was born there, but have no memory of it! My Dad STILL calls me his Singapore Girl :)
Two great shots from very angles. I'm very much enjoying all your Singapore pictures. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI've spent some interesting time scrolling through your blog and enjoying your photographs. They are amazing.
ReplyDeleteSky umbrellas are a new concept to me ... I would love one over my back garden to keep the snow out.
Interesting structure you have captured. Great sky watch picture.
ReplyDeleteDavid;
ReplyDeleteI was just looking at the title bar on your blog, and reading the words, "Totally committed to encouraging excellence in others." You do it so incredibly well, and much by example.
One of the highlights of 2007 for me was being "discovered" by Authorblog and being a blog of note. You do indeed encourage excellence, and I have appreciated your challenges in weekend wandering, and often in your daily posts. I have enjoyed meeting many of your faithful readers, too.
Blessings!
TM
PS Ornery says he will reply to your email concerning those rolls on my neck. I don't EVEN want to know what he has to say! :-)
Thanks for coming to my blog and commenting!
ReplyDeleteI have been looking through your blog and all of your amazing pictures. Since I live right in the middle of the US, those are places that I just fantasize about. Love your blog and will be back!
Those are very interesting pictures! I love the colors of the buildings against the gray of the sky and umbrellas. Good shots!
ReplyDeleteI think I'm getting dizzy from looking up! :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, though, wonderful shots. Have a great Friday.
I love the first one. It likes UFO that gonna land on the roof.
ReplyDeleteCheers,

ReplyDeleteSeemed a little bit dramatic at first.... ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat shots!
Singapore must be at beautiful city to visit! :)
wounderfull shot
ReplyDeleteThats really cool!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the first one I thought it was a form of antenna for radio astronomy, so the title might be relevant.
ReplyDeleteAnyway - you won't get wet with so large an umbrella!
Great shots.
Great picture David, from an unusual angle too.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you back, hope you are feeling better. Hope you are still onboard for ABC Wednesday, we will be starting from A soon.
I rather like that sky umbrella!
ReplyDeleteInterresting and gorgeous photos!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteGreat photos.Talking about Martians, did you know they landed in Wigan? Well according to the Houghton Weavers,a Lancashire folk group, they did!
Oh, that's stunning. Thanks for the tour, David. Perhaps the aliens simply built it and went away, as they did the pyramids?
ReplyDeleteThe first photo of the sky umbrella is fantastic David, thx for sharing
ReplyDeleteVery neat and Original skywatch post! I have never seen one of these before.
ReplyDeleteVery cool.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great subject to capture, a great Sky Watch David

jhjbqSky umbrellas like that are something new to me. very interesting!
ReplyDeleteso... the big sky umbrella is no geet all the cloudiness off of the people of Singapore? LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting contraption! Feeling much better I hope? :)
ReplyDeleteThe two perspectives--each is compelling in its own way. That dark sky tells me they erected the sky umbrella in the nick of time. Get under there quick!
ReplyDeleteI love it, it reminds me of the roof of the sunlounge in the hotel we stayed in last year! I'll email it to you if you like - the photograph not the roof! :)
ReplyDeleteAre you still there? Or did they take you for a ride? Nice shot.
ReplyDeleteDavid,
ReplyDeleteTake me to your leader!
Earth calling David. Are you there?
