Village Wants The Haul Of Fame
Gloucestershire villagers have applied for a council grant to buy a donkey to help them lug their shopping up a steep hill. More than 30 residents on narrow Rack Hill in Chalford cannot reach their homes by car. They are fed up hauling shopping up the steep 100-yard hill and say donkeys, used in the village until the 50s, are an eco-friendly alternative to a new road. Anna Usborne, leading the campaign, applied to the parish council to buy a donkey from a nearby sanctuary.

I remember seeing a TV clip on this town, it is one very steep hill, and they use pull along carts! The hill is incredibly steep, and there was a little shop actually on the hill, can you imagine having to get everything for the shop down the slope for every delivery. It was really picturesque, but I wouldn't want to live there!

they use donkeys there to carry things up and down the hills..
It's a common thing in the UK..lol..
Im sure a few shopping bags will be fine for a sturdy one ..

I remember the narrow little roads and us driving a big chevy...soon learned to park that bad boy and bought a nice little British car...a lovely Jag...hated to sell it and leave it's little behind and haul that fat a** home! I'm with the citizens on this one!
