Would You Give A Tiger Mouth-To-Mouth?
A German medical student got some unexpected practical experience at the Halle zoo when she gave the kiss of life to a baby tiger choking on a piece of meat, authorities have just revealed. The student, Janine Bauer, was passing the enclosure with her toddler son on a visit several weeks ago when she noticed the four-month-old tiger choking. "We got the piece out but he wasn't breathing so I tried mouth-to-mouth and heart massage," she added.
FOOTNOTE: The choke’s on you.
I baby one, sure.
ReplyDeleteBeing the Crazy Cat Lady, you bet I'd do what I could...a baby's a baby...

What a neat story. And a totally empathic thing for her to do. I hope the tiger cub survived. :)
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Did the tiger cub make it?

ReplyDeleteby tiger.
A baby one, well, in case of emergency, yes! :-)
mmmm, sorry - I might have tried to dig it out with my finger, but
ReplyDeleteHow in the world did she even get to the animal? and then, a baby would have the mother tiger about and they are viciously protective of their babies....
Um, well i have kissed a few animals in my time! So yes!!
ReplyDeleteIf she was busy with the tiger, where was her toddler, I hope that it wasn't in the enclosure with her, not sure I would want to risk that.
ReplyDeleteYes, I would give a tiger cub mouth-to-mouth recession, especially after watching a TV program last night that reported that there are less than 2000 Indian tigers left in the world.
ReplyDeletei personally don't go around kissing just any cat but penelope says i would cause i love cats. if i didn't then something about a womans wrath. dang she's frisky!

I would for two reasons. First, I'm such a tender heart, I can't even bear to squash a spider--unless it's poisoness and near my children--which brings me to my 2nd reason. My oldest daughters favorite animal is a tiger. I wouldn't be at the zoo without her. If I didn't jump in, she would!
ReplyDeleteA baby one yes - Mom and Dad definitely not!!
