Brought To Book

These shots were taken some months ago, with a Pentax K10D that I was testing. I had the camera for about a month and I really enjoyed the weight and balance ratio, as well as the fact that the controls were all so well placed that I could change settings without removing my eye from the vicinity of the viewfinder. I used the camera in various light conditions and I shot a variety of objects. I had just shot a couple of frames of the shimmering hologram spines of some Guinness World Record books when I thought this view would be even better. I guess any image that forces you to look twice at it reinforces my theory - that even shots of the most mundane objects in life can be interesting. Yes, there is art everywhere. We just need to look for it.

Seeing the coloured leaves through the books is like a rainbow on the shelves. And you can see the well worn favourite reads - well thumbed pages in the Guiness Book of Records.

You can even make a book look good! Love these shots, and I agree....there is beauty and art is just about everything.

In this digital/cyber age, there's nothing more beautiful than the site of old book spines. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteI check my world clock and see that if it is a bit after noon at home it is Monday morning early and David will have an odd shot on board. Now there is nothing that can please a librarian like books, and so you've got me hooked here. Guiness World Records may well be the most popular book in the school library.
ReplyDeleteI will have a guest photographer on board at my odd shot, which will appear magically at midnight my time, even while I sleep.
I think that much of the photographic art is presenting the mundane in a different light.

ReplyDeleteI like the top photo best. I like the top one best. It speaks to me of the art of reading. This out of focus slowly become clearing. Or, in other words, reading can change one's perspective.
