D'you Reckon I've Won My Stripes?
Photographs copyright: DAVID McMAHONRighty-o, so I've kinda got your attention with this shot, right? And the more you look at the first photograph, you know it's not a real zebra. You can see the number in the top left quadrant. You can see the translucent quality of something around the zebra's neck. You can see the metal railings. You can see the rectangular red object on the zebra's hindquarters. Something just doesn't add up, right? Just scroll down and you'll see what I had my lens trained on - a Melbourne tram.

What they can do with advertising hoardings now is quite incredible, or are all your trains decorated? Beautiful shot either way!
ReplyDeleteIs it Tuesday already? Man I've just had tea on Monday! This is weird!
ReplyDeleteYou are and early bird!
That is a fantastic shot. I would never have guessed it was a painting. I thought the zebra was real but through a tram or bus window. What a fantastic reproduction of a zebra for an advert! And what a shot!
Clever!
ReplyDeleteClever shot David.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, that is quite amazing, I really did do a double take on that first picture. This type of advertising is so entertaining and creative.
ReplyDeleteI have a pet hate of one particular type of advertising. Watching a football match is increasingly difficult when the bordering signs keep flashing and moving around, it drives me nuts. I'm amazed the players don't find it distracting, or maybe they do?
wow-neato! very realistic.
ReplyDeleteIve always wanted a Zebra. Hubs says I am half way there because freddie has stripes on his legs, true to his Donkey genes. Sometimes they are called 'garters' on Donkeys.
The new vet in town has a Zorse...a cross between a zebra/horse
it's pretty cool looking.
I love the Zebra especially since it is my totem. The zebra has taught me many life lessons. Yes, I would say the zebra has won his stripes!
ReplyDeleteThat is very realistic and pretty amazing!
ReplyDeleteDavid,
ReplyDeleteThanks for yet another adventure with your camera. Wonderful stuff here.
Wow! Great shot!
ReplyDeleteI think a big long Anaconda Boa Constrictor would be a better graphic for a train.
ReplyDeleteGood one David - I loved how you caught us with this one..
ReplyDeleteHa - over here public transport is just plain grimy. That's elegant...
ReplyDeleteThat picture gets my adrenaline pumping. It rolls with excitement. I would love to see that train go by me in the morning.
ReplyDeleteWell Stripe me Pink.
ReplyDeleteNice one David.
Nice.
ReplyDeleteI took a double take! At first I thought I had case of severe Monday Morningitis, and was seeing things.
Imagine what that will do to drunk commuters :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot!
ReplyDeleteIncredible artistry...the way the Zebra looks like it's coming right off the side of the vehicle.
I like the shot of the zebra wrapped tram - I also like the green look of the windows behind the tram.
ReplyDeleteThats very clever!
ReplyDeleteNifty capture David. Some artist has done a phenomenal job of painting this too. Good eye to catch this unusual ad.
ReplyDeleteNow that is pretty darn cool!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many people on the sidewalks thought a giant zebra was running after them?
whaddya mean not real? i dont understand.
ReplyDeleteoh i get it. apparently, over in australia, they don't have numbers in the upper quadrants by their zebras. well, we here in the uk...
oh wait, i'm being told we don't have them either.
my mistake.
moving on.
nice shot. :)
At first I thought it was part of a merry-go-round. :D
ReplyDeleteI thought it was the reflection of a zebra on something.
ReplyDeleteWoW...this is a very excellently captured shot...love the way you have captured it...really a cool one!
ReplyDeleteVery cool!
ReplyDeleteA very criative photo!
