Green Signal

It Ain't Real Jewellery, But Look At The Sparkles

Photograph copyright: DAVID McMAHON

This shot is for Anna Carson's Project Green. This mock necklace was lying on a table at home, so I shot it exactly where it was. It's just a toy, but it gave me vibrant colour as well as great depth of field, while the silver-gold "mock valuable look" provided some great light-halo effects in the immediate background.

  2. The minute I saw the glittering green and red I thought it was a Christmas shot. Still think that. Those longish blue beads look like Christmas tree light bulbs. Gorgeous festive colors, David! What fun!

    Cheers!

  10. Christmas in April, what a concept...and all that glitters is not gold (but it sure looks like it).

  15. David:

Thought you'd like to know (or maybe not, but it's too late now) as promised, you are a character in the stupidest play ever written. Well, actually, I didn't promise to make you a character in the stupidest play ever written, but that's how it turned out. Come see for yourself:

  16. Didn't know you were into mock jewelry in your off-hours. But it does look better on you than the KICK ME sign.

    Seriously, a "radiant" image.

I had a necklace like that. I dressed in velvet and chiffon, then draped the necklace around my neck and wore it to a Christmas party. It got heaps of compliments all evening! Plastic and chrome, who would have thought?

  18. Lovely shot David, specially that green one. I'm not one for jewelry though, even though it's given all the time as presents.

Love your macro shot on this :P Brings out the green. At first glance I thought they were Christmas decorative lights. Guess it's your daughter's necklace :P

p/s: removed the previous post cause I posted the wrong blog. my PG is at my wordpress.
