Go Froth And Multiply
A businesswoman drank four cappuccinos in Heathrow's troubled Terminal 5 and was hit with a $750,000 bill at the Giraffe Juice Bar. Terri Patsalides, 59, said: ``When I got the printout I told the waitress that although they were very nice, I thought the bill was over the top.''

and we thought inflation was bad in the states!
ReplyDeleteAloha David..
ReplyDeleteYou just have to giggle at a machine on Caffine!!
groovy post, Peace, Kai
FOUR cappuccinos?? That seems excessive in itself...
ReplyDeleteI used to be a waitress and I once charged someone $2174 for one cup of coffee. You see, we had a pin to access the POS machine, mine was 1366. I entered my pin, walked away for something else, came back, entered the pin again out of habit. Thus ringing up 1366 cups of coffee since I had entered the pin twice. Coffee was $1.59 per cup and frankly I rarely ever double checked any bills that I laid before the customers. This particular customer was really quick to point out the over-charge.
ReplyDeleteWell that "new" terminal has just been a terminal pain all round hasn't it?
ReplyDeleteTypical.
Eliot Ness cafe. Ha!
ReplyDeleteWell, perhaps the shop owner thought that anybody foolish enough to down 4 cups of cappuccino in one visit, would be too wired to notice the excessive charges on her bill.
ReplyDeleteEliot's Nescafé?
Heathrow do seem to be having a few minor problems!
ReplyDeleteI think at the moment it must be the last place that anyone would want to be with all the problems, let alone being charged that for coffee!
