Verse And Worse

Random Wit, Errant Rhyme. Not A Literary Crime

If giraffes could race
With style and grace
Would it be a hard-fought trek?
Or would they just go 'neck and neck'?

    Two giraffes were racing side-by-side,
    Neck-to-neck and stride-to-stride,
Which one will the winner be?
The one who ducks at the Baobab Tree.

But I do hope there are some longneck bottles of beer at the finish line.

  5. Two giraffes raced in Rome.
    A rhino watched the clock.
    The ending though was 'hippodrome'
    Which hacked the rhino off.

  6. Giraffes can race
    At terrific pace
I've seen them on the tele.
    They can run so fast
    But it cannot last
Or their legs would turn to jelly!

  7. A Disgruntled Sloth Observes The Race

I wish giraffes were short and plump
    Lazy sods, inclined to
    slump
Loud and clear, I must cry it:
    “I would fleetly cease to
    diet!”

    If giraffes did race
    At a galloping pace
It would end up in a sprawl!
As their gangly legs would entangle
    Definitely causing them to fall!
