Verse And Worse

Random Wit, Errant Rhyme. Not A Literary Crime

He says with pride that he won the rat race
Do you know his name or recognise his face?
He has no soul, he has no grace
He relinquished Life without a trace

  3. He worked like a demon
    And suffered privation
    But his fortune was squandered
    By the third generation.

  4. He was just an ordinary man
He worked hard & drove a van.
Until a woman in his life,
Robbed him, stabbed him with a knife.

Until that day he had it made
He thought his hard work really paid.
He bragged about the things he did....
But he's six feet under, 'neath a lid!

  8. I took the question "Do you know his name or recognise his face?" as rhetorical. I dunno. Took the message to be that winning the rat race doesn't mean that much, but you probably have something clever and punnish in mind. There must be an answer. Reveal, please.
