David is running low on wit To offer up this moldy bit. Goose - geese, Moose - meese, A child could answer that query, Even so, I do admit, that English can be scary.
Do you know why people throw so many fits? Because they never come in the correct size.
We have a strange tongue So much of its wrong! If gooses are geese But mooses aren't meese, Mouses are mice Houses not hice! What do we do with more than one rat? More than one puss cat or more than one bat? It just don't make sense to put on an ess! The English word endings, are any one's guess!
In our neck of the woods (which is really just in our house) the plural of moose is mooses.
ReplyDeleteAnd isn't many mouses called meeses? LOL
ReplyDeleteAnd why aren't limes called greens or lemons called yellows if oranges are orange?

ReplyDeleteWhat cartoon character was it that used to say, "I hate meeses to pieces."? I forget.
Hmmm... and since baby geese are "goslings", should there also be "moslings"?
ReplyDeleteIf you "choose" more than once,
ReplyDeleteIs it 'cheese'?
