Following a trail of lightning
Can be fairly frightening
So stay inside the cordon

  1. We get an unusual amount of lightening and have those old fashioned lightening rod spikes attached to our roof with the line grounded. It does help!

    Playing tag with lightening
    Can be very frightening.
    Being touched by a volt
    Can give quite a jolt,
And it's hard to have fun
    When one's cooked over done.

  3. Lightening can strike anywhere
You can just stand and stare
Or you can run & hide from it
Not under a tree lest you get hit.

  4. Lightning is frightening
there's no two ways about it
    stay away and enjoy
    the scene from indoors!

I arrived to visit my daughter here in New York in a thunderstorm ..just as I came up out of the subway to a great lightning and thunder display at the end of the A train and the end of a very long trip from Australia. Walking back two blocks to their apartment in the storm through the lightning was one of the scariest things!

My husband was accidentally electrocuted ,many years ago, so I have a healthy respect for large voltages!

ps You might enjoy my images of New York that I have been taking while I am here and putting on my blog..since I am leaving for home on Monday.

I might bump into you in Melbourne when I come to visit my son and daughter in law and their little family , as well as my sister who lives in lovely leafy Eltham! Melbourne is a lovely city..I especially love going to the tennis in January, and my sister enjoys taking me on her native plant outings!

  6. "Flash" Gordon was quite the man
When it came to being a lightning fan
    He didn't find it frightening
And instead rejoiced in the sky brightening.
Best hope he doesn't get a nasty jolt
Next time he gets too close to a favourite fiery bolt.

  7. David:
    Following a trail of line
    Can really be just fine.
The fish you want to meet
will soon be at your feet.
