
I took this shot in the High Country Inn in Whitehorse. This sort of humour is so redolent of pioneer country, be it Alaska, the Yukon or the Australian Outback. Wry humour - which is only one step removed from gallows humour, is such a part of the indominatable human spirit.
And as I've always said to many of my friends in both countries, the easygoing Canadians, with that wonderful ability to laugh at their own foibles, are simply Australians with different accents.

I like that idea David. Down under or up North....
