A burglar who stole a DVD player in China was arrested - when he went back to the same house for the remote. But the thief was allowed to go free - when police ruled the £100 DVD player was not valuable enough for them to press charges.
FOOTNOTE: Remote possibility.
"Remote possibility" Ha!
ReplyDeleteHi David: Similar story in Fargo. Two guys walked into a sporting goods store and walked out carrying a canoe. When they came back in to steal the paddles, they got caught. Stupid! More later, Johnnny (PS: Now I have to go drive to work on glare icy roads.)
ReplyDeleteWhere is the justice????
ReplyDeleteDonna
We live in a mad world!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that 100 pounds is not enough to steal for the police to press charges.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like what would happen to me if I turned to a life of crime.
ReplyDeleteyou're so witty.. LOL
ReplyDeleteOne for the Darwin's Award list!

ReplyDeleteI had the same in London when one of my offices was burgled. Nothing of worth was taken, the place was completely trashed. Despite a clear set of fingerprints even the naked to the eye left on the window they had removed, the police said it was probably just kids, and not worthwhile to pursue dusting it.
ReplyDeleteScary, eh?
Note to self: steal cheap things and you won't get in trouble. Good to know.
ReplyDeleteNow that is RIDICULOUS!
ReplyDeleteWho cares what he took... isn't breaking into someone's home enough of a crime?
ReplyDeleteReally? I thought China was a bit stricter than that!
