Verse And Worse

Random Wit, Errant Rhyme. Not A Literary Crime

"Prepare to meet your maker," yelled the butcher to the baker
As they wrestled in the street, beside the undertaker
I’m baffled by what started it, the brawl that brought such woe
I think it was simply sparked by which trader made more dough

  6. What caused them both to flail
The baker said he was dumb
The butcher placed on the scale
First the meat and then his thumb

  7. The fighting butcher and angry baker
are both out earned by the quiet undertaker
who is in cahoots with the candlestick maker.
