Verse And Worse

Random Wit, Errant Rhyme. Not A Literary Crime

Ahoy there me hearties, are you going to the parties?
D'you know if there are M&Ms or if there are Smarties?
Shall we roll out the cannons and clean all the barrels?
Or don party hats and set course for Carol's?

  1. I say we go and drink our selves full from the beer barrels.

Ahoy there, good captain, I'm not partying too often,
To choose between the M&Ms or preppin' for warfarin'
Is a tough ol' decision for this fun-starved old lady.
So give me the noise maker, and set the course steady.

  4. No Smarties, just M&Ms. And parties.

David, Stanford reminds me a lot of Oxford. It ought to because that was the intent of the Stanfords--to build an Oxford or Harvard in the West. Stanford has a view of the San Francisco Bay but you can't see Mountains from there, just Hills.

  5. I will provide the M&M's, Sir David.
That would be the Martini & Margarita.

No Sir, I am not a party girl so I probably won't show up at the party (true story!)

Thank you for the visit. How you happened across my little neck of the wilderness is a true mystery. But pleased to meet you!

    Hat's Optional

    You may go to Carol's,
But the party is at Sue's.
    There will be canapes,
    And bottles full of booze.
    Candy is for kiddies,
    Cannons are for war,
    Parties are for dancing,
'Til you can't dance no more!

  9. I sure think we all go to the Parties
With Nessa, Brit, Sink & other smarties
Willow, you bring The Girl from Cherry Blossom Street
Kristin, Quilly, and I will meet
Before we head to Carol's, Sue's or Blogo sphere
We are sure to meet Sir David here...!!

Tried a different comment here, and hope my friends will not mind me using their names without their permission...!
    Cheers !

  11. OK I'll join you at the party,
Although your friends are far too arty,
All they do is spout your rhymes,
And Auntie Bess sits reading palms,
While cousin Mary tries to speak
In her own version of Ancient Greek.
I think I'll bring my harp your way!
Let's hope someone asks me to play!

  12. No Sylvia, we did'nt forget you
Specially, since you go as "Nessa & You"
    SweetPeaSurry, come shake your leg
Or drown yourself in any peg.
Oh Rinky Rimes! you must play
Your harp & the rhymes will make our day
So put on your dancing shoes, and dont be too arty
The more the merry at Sir David's party....!!!

  13. A Hostess' Farewell

    Did you enjoy the party?
We hoped it would go with a swing,
    but next time
we'll make sure the neighbours are out
    before we let everyone sing...

    Did you enjoy the party?
I'm sorry it got out of hand,
    but possibly,
once all the noise has died down
    the majority will understand?

    Did you enjoy the party-
the food and the drink and the fun?
    You must have,
because you're the last one to leave...
I'm so glad you decided to come!
