Batteries Not Included

Anime’s Next Top Supermodel

The world's first robot supermodel has made its catwalk debut during Tokyo Fashion Week. The £1.37m HRP-4C humanoid has battery-powered motors in her face to help her flash a smile, lower her eyelids and sashay along a catwalk. Its facial features were modelled on the wide-eyed characters popular in Japanese "anime" cartoons.

FOOTNOTE: Demure the merrier.
