Verse and worse

Have you ever seen a pigeon
With X-ray vision?
Have you ever seen a ptarmigan
That can set its own alarm again?

  1. I once was a bit lucky, to have a roommate ducky. We had to sign a lease, with a family of Canadian geese. Hi David. Good to hear from you again. Johnnny!

  6. I can't find the time
    To think of a rhyme
    And I don't think I should
    When yours are so good!

  9. Who'd have thunk
that I am in the rank
    of ptarmigans
    same small brain
    no alarm, again!

  10. P.S.:
    Not that my bird brain
is as verse-a-tile as I'd like,
    but I'd do anything
    for a study break! ;-)

  12. Hi Merisi,

    Who'd have thunk
    A bird could dunk!

  13. Merisi - that word `verse-a-tile" is so brilliant that Ogden Nash would have been proud of you!

  15. I did hear that plovers
    Make terrible lovers
    And apparently pheasant
    Are exceedingly pleasant

  16. No, but I have seen a sparrow
    pecking on a marrow.
    And a thrush
    Nesting in a bush.....

    I will spare you more!

  18. Hi David! These past several months I have been writing but not really visiting anyone due to time. I happened to stumble across someone last night that said you are back in blogland. I don't know when you started blogging again so this may be really late for me to say so but...welcome back! It's good to see you.
I like your verse. It made me smile and brought to mind those black birds and their rhyme song from the Disney movie cartoon Dumbo.

Have a blessed and wonderful day today.

  19. I have never seen a ptarmigan
that could set his alarm again,
but I did see a near sided pigeon
that had an awful sad collision!

  20. Not even going to try, I would die of embarrassment failing to compete with the competent

  21. Well all the birds that flighted
that I know are all short sighted
So they are not exactly ravers
    Because the've visited Spec savers!

LOL - Love these ~ Eddie
