Devils and wraiths and witches and warlocks
Dastardly demons that tug at their forelocks
Are they netherworld dwellers ever so keen?
No, they're just children, enjoying Halloween

ReplyDeleteQuite right, Bernie!
ReplyDeleteThankfully here you never will meet
ReplyDeleteKids at the door to trick or treat
I've never celebrated Halloween
Does that make me ever so mean?
Halloween isn't big in Australia, Ayak. Stores have only started selling Halloween gear in the past couple of years.
ReplyDeletePlease tell me when you have the next title-writing contest on your blog!
We live back off the road, so we never get any trick-or-treaters here at the manor. I miss seeing all the cuties in their costumes.
ReplyDeleteLove your verse David.
ReplyDeleteI so enjoy the kids all dressed up but oddly enough, we had very few trick or treaters last eve. Now, I wonder what I'll do with all the leftover candy? tee hee
The best I saw last night were two brothers who were dressed as lego blocks.
ReplyDeleteHad a fun night here - the most kids I've ever had! Including kids from the school where I used to teach and some of the kids I tutor showed up!
ReplyDeleteA ring of the bell, a knock at the door
ReplyDeleteWe all know the reason the visit is for
Get out your candy and get out your sweet
'Cause if you do not they'll trick you not treat!

Good one David.
ReplyDeleteWere all your children in your rhyme of Halloween in their teen - whether thirteen or nineteen?
