Julius Scissor

Well, They Told Me To Look Sharp

Photograph copyright: DAVID McMAHON

If ever one of the Scissor Sisters goes AWOL, this is where to start the search. These scissors were just sitting on a colleague's desk and I was intrigued by the colour of the grips. Almost like your grandfather's horn-rimmed reading glasses, don't you think? And because I never "set up"' my shots, I declined her offer to move her handbag out of the way. You can see it in the background, in soft focus. Looks like a Burberry to me, but I'm not sure.

  3. I think you are right about the bag's brand.

The scissors are fine and all, but next time, if I may be so bold to ask, please get a better picture of the real beauty: the purse!

  4. My mother has those scissors, I always thought a bit had snapped off on the outer part of the larger handle, but it must be a groove for the pinky finger to hide in.

  5. Hi Priyank,

Funny you should say that, because you;re so right. When I was taking the picture, my colleague was looking at me and just going: ``What the?''

  6. Hi Karoline,

Thank you - strangely enough, it was a difficult shot to take. I reckon I had to shoot about fiv or six frames before I was satisfied!

  8. G'day Pope Terry,

They must be an iconic Aussie brand. Now I;m curious, I'll have to find out.

And good point about the resting spot for the pinky finger. hadn't thought of that.
