Random Wit, Errant Rhyme. Not A Literary Crime

In Paris beside the petrol bowsers
I had to stop and change my trousers
The master tailor said I’d look spruce
Mon ami, they’re Toulon and Toulouse

but then said i looked like a miniature schnauzer.

Next time get a proper measure
And then they'll fit you like a treasure.
Why did you have to change the pair?
Did you spill petrol or get a tear?

Doffing your pants on a city street!
No telling what kind of adventures you'll meet.
Unless you should chance upon a cop,
Who your pant-less adventuring would stop.

Where's Degas
when it comes down to paint
an accidental tourist
in Paris? ;-)

Ah, new vocabulary. If you hadn't mentioned petrol I'd have wondered if it was a dog shop. :) I found the definition online but what's the root word?

Authorblogger lost his pants
While gassing up in Paris, France
His wife and tailor threw a fit
The citation fee left him out of pocket

Cheers!

I regret I have no rhyme to offer in response to your chuckle-invoking post. I just enjoyed it, and the comments. You certainly know how to bring out the verse in folks!
