I can't click to get a larger detail, David. Is there a decoration directly under the cross - under the eaves - of a viking helmet, or some other such thing with horns?
(I don't have my glasses today, either, so maybe it's not even close to that.)

And it will still be there when the tower block is dust. The power of faith eh?
ReplyDeleteNice shot David…I love the reflected blue in the background.

A good thing to find amongst all the concrete!
ReplyDeleteVery ice shot. It reminds me of all the old parish churches in the City of London that are surrounded by office buildings.
ReplyDeleteI love the contrast - framed well against the blue (?)glass building behind - the old against the new.
ReplyDeleteNice juxtaposition with the old and new
ReplyDelete*Two thumbs up*
Great modern backdrop to a lovely old church. It's amazing how the new city grows up around the roots.
ReplyDeleteI love the thought process behind this shot... Very compelling...
ReplyDeleteCool shot, ours is up as well at burntofferings and more at bernies fotoblog.
Have a great WW!!
I wish all cities were made up of buildings like this. There's nothing of modern architecture that speaks to me. This does.
ReplyDeleteExcellent composition, love the contrast between ages of the architecture. Anna :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot....Happy WW:)krujtd
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to see some old still left amongst the new and not just demolished and done away with.
ReplyDeleteI love photographs of churchs, especially ones in the big cities, such a contrast. Great shot!
ReplyDeleteHappy WW!!
David: What a beautiful cross, nicely captured.
ReplyDeleteI really liked this post and photo.
