An overseas reader of this blog once exclaimed that only I would be carrying a camera when confronted by someone dressed as a giant prawn – after I took the shot and published it on my blog.
So when I noticed this bonsai plant in the kitchen area at work, I had to rub my eyes to make sure what adorned it. Yes, there was a solitary burgundy bauble on it. I press-ganged a friend into guarding it while I sprinted back to my desk for my camera – just in case the owner returned to claim it before I got back.
I’ve seen Christmas trees of all shapes and sizes, but I’ve never seen one like this before. The shape, the colour, the contrast, the reflection – everything was just right.
Bonsai? Hmmm, maybe the concept is growing on me.
Always wanted a Bonsai tree. What kind of camera do you use?

The Winter Greetings china was designed for Lenox by Catherine McClung, an artist who is known for her bird portraiture. She put three birds, common here in the States, on the dinner plate. I think she chose the Cardinal because of his gorgeous red Christmasy color. I just like it because it's a bit different from the usual Christmas china you see. Thanks for the question! :-)
Oh...fogot to say...hard to imagine Christmas in the summer! There would be no fires in the fireplace...but then that would actually make it a lot easier for ole Santa, wouldn't it? :-)

ReplyDeleteIn Dubai (and near), there are loads of FANTASTIC places for photographing. In Oman you can see the turtles (laying eggs), just in the outskirts of Dubai you will find the mangroves and hundreds of flamingos (might go there tomorrow actually)... And of course then there are the corals... Welcome!!!
Btw I LOVE your blog. Got a lot of inspiration So I will definately be back.

When I saw the view from my new office building, I knew I had to always have my camera with me. The skies over the last few days have been incredible. I've got to get the pictures downloaded so I can post them on Friday.

That is so neat. I am trying to bonsai a tree that my neighbour chopped down. So far, I grow a twig. That is is4 or 5 years on. A healthy twig, but a twig, not a tree. :(

I rally like it! In fact, I have slowly begun the process of getting smaller trees. Not because I don't like them, but the time it requires to put it up and take it down, well you get the picture. This one may just come along faster than I thought =)
