Verse And Worse

Random Wit, Errant Rhyme. Not A Literary Crime

Phlegmatic Bertie Wooster, he never had any peeves
Except when he was bereft of the inestimable Jeeves
You could traverse the world, from Bombay to Calais
And never would you find such a multi-gifted valet

  3. That one's interesting David....thanks for dropping by my site recently!!! I have been keeping up with the tragic loss of life over there, I'm sure the cloud of smoke left now is the thick grief in the air. My heart goes out to all of you as well. Take care.

  4. P. G. Wodehouse and his Jeeves books takes me back to my childhood as my parents really loved these books and they used to chuckle every now and then, while reading them.
'Thanks for the memory'..... as the song goes!

  5. Wonderful! How I've wished for a Jeeves to whip up a magical hair of the dog on *those* mornings!

    ed said what????

I have always loved the quintessential English understated humour of Wodehouse and the marvellous interpretation of that era in the TV series with Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry.

    Cannot better your verse.

  9. Fry and Laurie were beyond perfect in that series - I have the box set - endless clever putdowns to be gleaned from Jeeves for when my husband is having one of his bad ideas...
