Verse And Worse

Random Wit, Errant Rhyme. Not A Literary Crime

My cat's confused and quite bemused
By the humble platypus
I always say it's quite okay
It really doesn't matter, Puss

  1. Of course you know my cats, they stay on their dew claws and one step ahead of us at all times! It'd be refreshing to find one them bemused by anything every so often!

    "It is done", God said,
"It's time to take a rest."
The angels marveled at the sun and stars,
Jesus liked the Earth the best.

    God's workshop was a jumble,
    And Gabriel started to clean.
HE found a pile of extra parts,
And caused some kind of scene.

"You know I can't stand waste, Lord.
"You've got to use these bits,"
"Can't be done," God told him.
    "Nothing left there fits."

    "You're the Lord!" Said Gabriel,
    "Ain't nothing you can't do."
So God jammed the bits together,
And made the platypus and you.

  3. My rhyme will sound silly
    After readings by Quilly!
    But puss should not worry
    Platy can't hurry
    He looks very strange
    And will never get mange.
    Give puss a pat
Tell him "go kill a rat!"

    'Nay' says he
    'I cannay agree'
The Platypus is a most peculiar creature
with its body covered in hair
and its nose flat and bare
it reminds me our neighbour the teacher

I wrote it whilst repairing my gloves that a dog chewed. I'm glad he chewed them now. Debs and I'll be back.
