Ringing Endorsement

Nearer, My Cod, To Thee

A businessman in the UK who lost his cellphone on a beach was amazed when it turned up - in the belly of a giant cod. A week later, his girlfriend's cellphone rang and it was a fisherman saying he'd found the phone in a 25lb (11.5 kg) fish. The handset was returned, allowed to dry out - and it still works.

FOOTNOTE: In cod we trust.

Sounds like a fish-wives tale to me!

My father was a commercial cod fisherman so this "rings" true to me...he found a lot of strange things in the bellies of fish..funny!

Unbelievable - My son's mobile 'phone went through the wash tucked safely in the pocket of his school trousers and never twinkled again!

But the smell!!

Oh David. Grooooooan. Ha! I am just wondering what "area cod" he was calling?

Seems a bit of a reach, but if it's actually true what a marketing point for the maker of the phone! "This phone is off the hook", or "Tested by the hand of Cod", or ...

Okay I'll stop.

Amazing! I bet they called that phone Jonah after that! ;)

Now how come my sister in law got her mobile just a bit wet and it was ruined? Yet a massive cod comes along and swallows one and in spite if the acid content of the stomach and the water the fish must have swallowed, the thing still works.
That takes some believing!
Bit of a fishy story if you ask me!

The smell will never rub off, I fear...

I started laughing before I got through the title, but the footnote finished me off.

Love your title! And it is a great tale -- fish-wife or otherwise!

"The Piece of Cod which passeth all understanding"
While we are at it I saw a fish and chip shop the other day called "The Cod Almighty".
As for me my darling wife put my pygamas in the washing machine and my hearing aid was in the top pocket. When we returned from church we saw that the machine had stopped and a hearing aid was presented neatly behind the widow. It was dried out and worked perfectly, however in church I did not hear the surmon which might have been a blessing. Crumbs I should have done a posting on this.

Now, THAT is amazing. Need to find out the brand. My friend's cell phone keeps getting dropped in the toilet by her nieces and nephews never to work again.

Gosh, this is pretty funny and almost unbelievable! But, heck, I retrieved my lot contact lens from a swimming pool once (with the aid of a Navy Seal diver). Anything is possible, huh?

I want to know the brand! I bought my son a new cell today because it got a little bit of sweat on the LCD and he couldn't read the screen. Uggh.
