Verse And Worse

Random Wit, Errant Rhyme. Not A Literary Crime

According to legend, heroic Leander
Visited his love and didn’t meander
Each night he swam the wide Hellespont
The ancient Greeks knew what some fellas want

One night our hero took to swimmin'
Not doing this for just any women
Swimming so fast, his arms making sparks
In water filled with maneating sharks

Yes, and not only the ancient Greeks...the Egyptians knew a thing or two...and they do say the Italian's were keen on support for mens wants...still trying to determine who was looking out for the damsels of the day, however.

I looked this story up to remember it. It's really sweet that the young man worked so hard to be with his love, but so sad that when he drowned she jumped from her tower in grief. Thanks for the memory trip back to my Greek Mythology reading days, David!

Cheers!
