So Where Exactly Is Your Speedometer, Sir?
A Coventry motorist has been fined for speeding in a vintage Model T Ford without a speedometer. The owner, a semi-retired mechanic, went to court in a bid to avoid a £60 fine and three points on his licence. He said: "I'm no boy racer or Lewis Hamilton. I'm a 67-year-old man in an 86-year-old car. "
FOOTNOTE: T time.

who knew age could become such a convincing argument...
I say bless his heart!
Too old to fine?
How on earth did he get a Model T to go fast enough to speed?
Simply brilliant!
Age discrimination, twice! ;-)
My father-in-law was quite a character, having once, when he was first dating my MIL, taken a car for a test drive and given her quite a tour. That was in the '20s.
My FIL's last car was a 1967 Plymouth Barracuda. (My son still owns it, though it is in need of restoration.) And I think it was one of his last long trips driving when he was stopped by an Oregon patrolman for speeding. The officer was totally surprised. Thinking he was stopping a reckless teenager showing off in his muscle car, he discovered instead a dignified gentlman traveling at his age. (87 years old driving 87 mph.)
