No Entry For The Gentry

I took this shot in Calcutta, India, in late 2006 during a very rushed trip to the city of my birth. Nuthin’ strange about the sign - until you look a bit closer. The hand-lettered sign does not adorn a gate or a home or even an office building. It’s attached to a tree.
So it wasn’t the corporate headquarters, but maybe it was the branch office.

Perhaps it was the Keebler tree - you know, elves and all! ;)
Perhaps the sign was meant to discourage intelligent dogs. Shouldn't have written that. Some sap will take offense, but let 'em bark at me. They may leave someone else alone getting to the root of the problem.
Scat! No beating around the bush. Money doesn't grow on tree!
Grrr! 74wixygrad beat me to the root of the problem one!
So, I wonder, will Twiggy be visiting?
(I know... *groan*)
Clever, clever. Seamus cracked me up on his comment.
Hahaha. This ws hilarious.
Yep...the branch office. You are too much!!
Good one, David!
Had to laugh at that.
How neat! I just love stopping by here to see what new visual treat you have left. :)
ha ha!!! I guess you could say this sign's 'bark' was worse than its bite!~
HA! Wonder what's in the bag...
that is too funny!
Branch office, bwa ha ha!
What was that pinned to the side? Flower petals?
Branch office?? Bwahahahaha. Too funny David.
Oh wait. Even funnier is that my comment was almost exactly the same as kappa no he. Maybe I should read your other comments before posting or it might get a little redundant for you. Sorry David!
they sure knew how to branch out to get business
Okay, needing a good laugh...thanks...I loved Seamus's answer!

I just heard that drum and cymbal routine they always do after a goofy joke....ba dum dum dum chhhh
I guess tree growing is a touchy business.
Just leafing through and I stopped to see what was branching out here ... ah .. a tree w/a sign ... I expect those nesting above put that there ... dont want anyone to break a limb!
