Verse And Worse

Random Wit, Errant Rhyme. Not A Literary Crime

Said firm-jawed Mary to the cassowary
"Can you fly this fairy to the closest dairy?"
"I cannot fly," said the bird, crestfallen
"But my, oh my, you should hear me callin’!"

Ooo I was expecting a photo. Nevermind, a cursive verse always hits the mark.
Cheers

A handsome soaring eagle was beloved of a dodo

Even though she looked quite worse than a female Quasimodo

But still her heart was true, and she often was quite witty

And because she made him laugh and smile, the Eagle thought her pretty

two calling birds, three french hens and she couldn't get a lift if she begged! Poor Fairy, wings not working?

"The closest dairy,"
Said the cassowary,
"Is in Tucumcari,
So you'd better not tarry."

Spanning a net of words,
pulling great comments in.

Love that catch about
your "Verse and Worse".

I've not heard a thing as absurd
As hitching a ride from a bird
Riding a bird is not a good bet
You do better flying in a jet

Thank you, David! Fairy tales are one of my favorite genre. Your rhyme takes me mentally to a mysterious wood where all kinds of magical creatures roam.

Cheers! & Happy Holidays!

Nicely done, David. I love the internal rhymes.
