Surfers Never Throw In The Towel
Warm afternoon. Perfect autumn weather. Low cloud. Plenty of sunshine. One of the world's most famous beaches. Surf's good, without being spectacular. That's every surfer's late-autumn prayer, isn't it?
We were just leaving Bondi Beach in Sydney, walking through the main car park to our vehicle, when I saw this. You've got to give this person a big thumbs-up for clear thinking.
He or she had obviously finished surfing for the day (evidence: surfboard strapped to the roof rack) and had decided to go in search of something to eat or drink.
No point leaving a wet towel on the back seat, is there? So it's been draped carefully through the rear passenger door and then the car's been locked.

Your door shots are some of my favorites, in fact I snapped couple while at the beach. I'd love for you to see them.
What is it about doors that make such fantastic photos?
Love the towel and very smart thinking of that dude.
I wonder whether sky-scrapers provided the inspiration for the design on the towel? Can't stop seeing it as multi story blocks...
Yep, good thinking on his part and quick thinking on yours! Cool towel!
Not only did his towel get dry, but at least part of the car stayed shaded and not quite so hot when he got back in. Clever indeed. I wonder if he worked out where the sun was going to hit hardest before deciding which window to use for a clothesline...
I went for something a little more stationary...
The Doors #10: "Who Knew That Was There?"
We used to do that too when we live in SA........not in the same mode any more, mores the pity
Cheers
That title! How do you do it so onsisitently. Ingenious way to dry the towel, especially if he lived here on windy isle.
and it probably doubled as a changing room....
(your door series could be a meme...the number of participants would be huge)
An idea I may steal! A nice way to allow the sand to drop from the towels.
And also the towel dries quicker. Good thinking indeed.
Greetings from London.
You are too funny, Sir Knight.
Very clever interpretation of your theme, David! Love this!
Never let it be said that a surfer doesn't like his comfort! xv
Blowing in the wind....works!
Touch of the wet n dry stuff here.lol.
Not a surfer but a swimmer here. Soon it will be the season of wet towels, flip flops, and sand in your swim suit!
I would say that whoever had this set up is a long time surfer!
Thanks for visiting my blog! Please come again!
Yeah...... I've seen people do that. Makes a great photo though!
How clever!
It's a neat idea, for sure! Someone is a creative thinker!
I love this doors series! But this is very clever thinking indeed!
Also an excellent screen for changing! Great thinking.
That's sure to catch on.
interesting shots. I bet the towel dried quickly that way.
have a great day. I'm celebrating earth day over at my place.
I remember now (but had forgotten) doing exactly that ..as a teenager at Avalon Beach (north of Sydney) ...
Thank you for reminding me!
That top photo stopped me. Your perspective played up the shadings on the towel so perfectly--it appeared three-dimensional and I was quite puzzled. You have the eye, David!
