Fisherman's Mission In Life Starts To Flounder
It's a matter of life and death. A Polish sailor who came back from a fishing trip to find he'd been declared dead has failed to convince bureaucrats he's still alive. Piotr Kucy, 37, said: "I stood there in front of them and said look, I'm alive, but they wouldn't accept it." He returned after a two-week fishing trip to find local authorities had declared him dead after wrongly identifying a body washed ashore. "Five months have passed since then and nothing. No response. I have to work, insure myself, but I can't because I'm still dead!"
FOOTNOTE: Alive cross.

This would be a horrible situation, wouldn't it? Of course, he could just assume a new identity--perhaps that of the man who really DID die, and start all over in a new life. How many of us have wished to do that at one time or another? And the question that begs to be answered is, "who was the dead man?"
You do find the most interesting news tidbits, David!

Well they always say that fact is often stranger than fiction!
Cheers
Truth is stranger than fiction...but this is bizzare!
When Bureau-rats are involved, nothing is a surprise.
Hi David,
Your Wordless Wednesday was wonderful.
This fellow probably still had to pay taxes.
Wow thats a story! Thanks David for stoping by Idaho Daily Photo!
Raising from death and being counted should not be made that difficult by bureaucracy! :-)
I would love to meet him!

What a perfect way to start a new life ...
