thanks for dropping by the mouse the other day and with the 'pod' for where has childhood gone!

I've really enjoyed the few visits over to authorblog and will have to put it on the list of blogs for frequent nibbling! it appears we share a few faves (and also a certain perspective or would it be eye? or ear?)

David,

My grandfather (in his 80s) was born in the UK but served in India working for the diplomatic service, and has a fondness for the country. How strange this association with our family and India, I'd love to travel there one day!

I wonder how far back our mutual ancestor is? My Dad (who spent several years in India as a child) is doing some genealogy himself, he's got back pretty far...

I am once again honored to be selected as Post of the Day. Thanks so much, it is the nicest thing that has happened to me today.

God bless you, David, for all that you do.

PS. that is the way we crazy Americans spell honor ;)

Thanks for the mention, Dave!

An online photo service refused to let me buy one of my prints because of their copyright policy. They said it was a "professional" picture.

I blame you for my troubles. ;-)

This is not shallow flattery... I'm serious here. Your coaching has been an inspiration to work at getting better pictures and believing that it was possible. ...Even though I have never taken photography classes, and use an old (2.1 megapixel) camera.

The picture in question was a shot of my wedding ring. I draped a black cloth ($1.20 remnant) over a chair next to a sunny window, and took a macro shot of it. When I showed them the cloth, and that the image was still in my camera (plus experiments with different colored backgrounds) they allowed me to purchase my own photograph.
