Wot? No Supporting Role?

What Would Dick Whittington Have Said?

UK television personality Jeremy Paxman has given Marks & Spencer a dressing down over the lack of "support" in their underpants. The Newsnight star personally contacted store chief executive, Sir Stuart Rose, to complain. Paxman sent an email to Sir Stuart, saying: "Like very large numbers of men in this country I have always bought my socks and pants at Marks & Sparks. There's no other way to put this. Their pants no longer have adequate support. When I've discussed this with friends it has revealed widespread gusset anxiety." He said his email was meant to be a private matter but had been leaked.

FOOTNOTE: That's a load of bollocks!

Maybe the underpants aren't the problem?...:)

Well! Being a woman I have no practical way to fully appreciate this problem. However, I'm pretty sure that walking around with a pack animal in front of you and a cart between your legs won't solve the problem. (weg)

Cheers!

It's all over the news here today. Apparently their socks are not up to scratch either anymore.

LOL now that is embarrassing. poor fellow. Not only is his underwear not doing it's job....now everyone knows about it.

I suppose he called their 'tuck support' line first, didn't he?
Does seem unusual that, in brief, they are not 'up to scratch'.

Forgive my last night's volley of comments - I just had to give my favorite India Anglo a Pun-jab or two.

This one got the ladies attention, I see. Keep your eye on Lin, David, she's a real wit.

Cat was being very kind in leaving the 'T' off the front of 'wit'. He's just like that, you know.

i am a huge jeremy paxman fan, and am completely sure his reputation is not -that-damaged by this leak. and he quite probably put it better than most could. JEREMY RULES! sorry, i'll settle down now. but what i'm not sure comes across outside britain is jeremy is a guy who doesn't let *any* nonsense slide past him.

My husband's leading a similar campaign on M&S socks. He's not got the JP's high profile, but he did go to school with Stuart Rose! I wonder who'll get their way?
