Rub-A-Dub-Dub, Three Men In A Tub

Make Sure You Give It A Really Good Scrub

Photographs copyright: DAVID McMAHON

On my first day in Singapore, I saw this person scrubbing down a glass-top tourist boat at Clarke Quay. It sure didn't look dirty to me, but he would hose down an area, then give it a vigorous going-over with a long-handled mop. Then he'd move on to the next area and repeat the process. He grinned and nodded when I asked if I could photograph him, so this is my contribution to this week's theme.

He was obviously proud of his craft!

This is almost the antithesis of a mess. Good idea for the theme.

Great blog - discovered thru PhotoHunt. Not your normal photohunt entry. Very nice!!! I spent the week just before Christmas in Singapore a few years ago - nothing like it!

Mine is up and a little different too. TR

Hi Seamus,

I doff my hat to the rapier-like wit of that comment. Wish I had thought of that myself!

Keep smiling

David

Hi Carver,

He was so methodical, so scrupulous in his duties.

Cheers

Hi Katherine,

Er, I hang my head in shame. Will fly back to Singapore specially to photograph him in portrait form, for you.

Please tell me if that is an acceptable compromise!

Cheers

David

A different take on the theme but a good one. One can't be too clean n'est-ce pas?

G'day TR,

Thank you for visiting and I'm so glad you enjoyed your time here.

Singapore and Hong Kong are something else when it comes to Christmas decorations/ illuminations!

Cheers

David

My photo hunts include road construction, a bad restaurant, and a driveway full of snow.

I suppose it’s a “guy thing.” If he were a truck driver, I think he’d be out scrubbing his truck.

Come on David! You should know we Singaporeans are very disciplined when it comes to cleanliness and being orderly. We have lots of campaigns to remind us. hehe...

Happy New Year!!

I was a little worried when I saw the title of the post.

And I'm with Katherine... We demand portraits.

It's a very clean boat. Can he come over and do our floors when he's done? LOL!

Nothing like a good scrub up after a party. Peeped in at the party a bit late but i cleared up a little for you David. A good sighting, this chap washing his boat. Had i been the photographer i might have got in a little bit closer if ya know what i mean lol ;)

Looks like the cleaning is kind of meditative for him.

The title had me wondering...

But I was happy to see how clean this post really was!

Sorry, not as witty a Seamus, but I tried.
