Bush Faces The Music – As Conductor

Pointing out stories you may have missed. JoAnn Falletta was doing what a conductor should - concentrating on the orchestra in front of her in Jamestown, Virginia. No wonder it took her a few seconds on Sunday to realize someone behind her was motioning for a try. It was none other than US President George W. Bush, "smiling at me kind of devilishly," Falletta said. She gave him her baton and stepped aside. Gesturing exuberantly, the President led the orchestra during part of its performance of "Stars and Stripes Forever."

"We didn't expect him to know the score so well," Falletta said afterward. "He was not shy about conducting at all. He conducted with a great deal of panache." Bill Fearnside, a violinist with the Virginia Symphony, put down his instrument and picked up a camera to record the moment. "It was a little shocking, but it was fun," Fearnside said.

I was curious if you had any suggestions on things I could do or people to contact if I wanted to sell photos, take photos for people (like for hire), etc. It's something I may consider a little ways down the road.

thanks!

Hi Jenera,

I would love to see you doing something like that. Work towards it and you will definitely achieve it.

Yes, I'll send you some detailed thoughts on how to go about it. First and foremost, keep looking back on your old photographs and you will see just how far you've come already, in terms of quality.

Most of all, get used to using your camera both indoors and outdoors, taking portraits as well as landscape shots.

Will give you some structured step-by-step advice ....

Stay tuned - and believe in your own ability.

Cheers

David

Hi Carol,

Bush as conductor? Hmmm, I'd be ready to ``baton'' down the hatches!

You take care now
