Photographs copyright: DAVID McMAHON
Sometimes you start out photographing one thing and end up concentrating on something else altogether. I took a couple of shots of this barbed-wire fence (not a common sight here in Oz) against a clear blue sky and was about to walk on. That's when I noticed something else. Glistening in the bright sunlight was a gossamer-thin strand of cobweb. I had to change angles and shoot to capture it gleaming in the sun. Hmmm, nice web site!

Oh, those puns David..barbs in themselves, sometimes!
David, a question.
I have started posting my photos. I noticed that you and Carol put a copyright notice on yours. Should I do the same? I know nothing about copyright. Does each one need a copyright notice or can I put a notice in the side column to include my art also?

G'day Carol,
Puns? Wot puns? Dunno wot you're talking about!
Cheers and congratulations on being No.1 this week.
Keep smiling
David
Hi Darlene,
Great, I'll check 'em out. No, you don't need copyright authority. Really, it's just a (very mild) deterrent - I do it to deter anyone who thinks of being dastardly as copying the pictures without asking me first.
Just makes 'em think twice before copying and pasting.
Yes, put a notice in your sidebar - that's probably the best idea.
Cheers
David
Thanks Dave, I saw a site with a notice in the side bar... now I just gotta find it again. Later Gator.
Sounds good to me, Darlene
David,
Mushy has just left a url for a little piece of software that automatically prints a small copywrite stamp ON the corner of each photo, so if its cut and pasted, your rights to it is still printed up there, for all to see! He's posted it in the comments section of my latest post.
Hi Carol,
Thanks for the heads-up. And thank you too, Mushy, for instigating that.
Cheers
David
