Must Be The Emperor's New Clothes

No, look again. They're not real nudes. It's just an advertisement on the side of a tram - and I shot this picture about 30 minutes ago. I noticed the tram while I drove through Caulfield and while I was at a traffic intersection I shot three frames through my window. Then I turned off, parked in a side street and sprinted to the tram stop. Luckily I fired off a test frame - because I then realised my memory card was full. I swiftly cleared a few images as the tram drew up beside me. To me, the real touch of humour in this shot is the head of the real-life passenger above the painted body on the side of the tram. I'm so glad I always carry my camera with me.

Nice piece of humorous picture, I loved it. The earlier one (Jug's pic) was also excellent. That’s why I love to see your blog everyday.
Hi Pijush,
Glad you liked the pictures. And it's great to see you've become a regular visitor.
Thanks for your support.
Cheers
David
This is a kickin' shot David, all the more so because of the fact that you went through all that to get a good shot - any man could run behind a real nude, but only a photographer would chase a picture, for a picture....
Good bless photographers, beautiful sunsets and the roving eye.
excellent shot!! The passenger in the bus makes the shot even more meanigful.... that's what sets it a little apart!!
cheers
Great shot.
Lesson for the day - make sure you have enough storage!
Hi David, thanks for your comments on my blog. I too wondered about exactly how the musical planks worked and I emailed the Museum and here is their reply 'As far as we know it is blocks of wood in channels that pushes the air back and forth. Bellows would decay in outdoor situation. It was inserted in the ground as a complete unit so we did not see the inside.' So there you go! x
Ooooooh! This is fabulous.. tee-hee. Thanks for making me smile.
Hu Gautham,
Your comment made me chuckle - and so did your email. ``Only a photographer would chase a picture, for a picture'' - that's a great validation of my work.
Many thanks
David
Hi Sam,
You're so right - the head of the passenger just gives the shot an extra dimension!
I was lucky ....
Cheers
David
Hi yesbut,
Thank you for that comment. You're absolutely right - always check the spare capacity of a memory card!
Take care
David
Hi Papoosue,
I'm absolutely fascinated by that explanation from the Museum.
I'm intrigued by the fact that they didn't get to see the inside of the sealed unit!
Wonderful post - thanks for sharing it with us.
Cheers
David
Hi Carol,
Glad I made you smile. It was well worth the sprint to get that shot.
Thank you

David- this is a laughriot. I need to start carrying my camera with me everywhere I go.
Additionally my roommate just called me on the phone to let me know that I got an unmarked package in the mail. Hopefully its your book (finally)?
David
Neat picture.
cheerz...Bwana
Hmm... and here I thought you were trying to include "adult content" int your blog... HAHAHAHAHA kidding... this made me smile though, and anything that does and anyone who does it nowadays is high up in my book!
love,
cecilia
Bet you have fun coming up with them catchy blogpost headings, David :-)... good one, would have been absolutely perfect if the tram passenger was just a wee bit shorter!
Hey David,
Been on a road trip, but back.
Way kewl pic... cute story and I hate it when that happens!! Usually my problem is that the battery light starts flashing that it's out!
My agency wrapped a bus with this same concept... except they had clothes on. Our clients aren't that liberal!
Hi Bart,
I must admit I've never seen that ad before.
Cheers
David
Hi Anonymous,
No, I certainly don't intend it to be an adult-content blog.
The picture was just a bit of fun - a photo opportunity that couldn't be ignored.
I simply posted it because I thought it would appeal to people's sense of humour.
Thanks for visiting
Cheers
David
Hi Dan,
It's a hoot to carry a camera everywhere!
Hope the parcel is indeed the book. BTBear ordered it from Linux and from what I recall, it arrived in about a week or so.
Hope you enjoy the book.
Cheers
David
Hi Bwana,
Glad you liked the picture. It was wort the sprint down the street!
Cheers
David
Hi Antares,
Yes, you're so right. Doing the headlines is often more fun than writing the posts.
I was also lucky, as you say, that there was a passenger in the right spot!
Cheers
David
Hi OzLady,
Welcome back and I hope you had a great time in Malaysia.
Always good to be back home, isn't it?
Cheers
David
Hi Darlene,
Terrific advertising concept - but it would certainly be distracting to some people on the roads!
Cheers
David
Hi Cecilia,

Hi Madi,
Baring, sharing and caring - I guess it all depends on what a person is `wearing'!
Cheers
David
If I'd been there I'd have drawn pants on them all.
Hi BTBear,
I can just see the sign now: ``Kilroy, er BTBear woz 'ere''.
Cheers
David
I shudder to think of the traffic jams this would cause in the hopelessly congested streets of Kolkata. The pictures are tooo vivid, shocking and lifelike for 'em Bongs there.
