TV Or Not TV - That Is The Question
Here is my response to a tag from Dan, who wants me to reveal seven little-known facts about myself. Okey-dokey, here goes:
1. I was on national TV last night (see picture above).
2. I was a contestant on the quiz show `Temptation'.
3. The show was on the Packer-owned Nine Network.
4. I won a $900 cutlery set.
5. I turned down the chance to buy $8500 worth of artwork.
6. I was so eager to answer an early question that I blurted out the answer before the host could call my name.
7. My chair had to be winched down so that despite being 6'3'' I looked the same height as the other contestants.
And in response to Dan's tag, the seven bloggers whom I now tag are: Jenera Healy, In the Nut House, Scala, Lissa, Pasture Musings, David's Pics and The Chosen One.

hello david
i like such tags.they reveal more about one's personality.in the normal course one refrains from showing off.such a tag gives you a license for a goodspirited immodesty!
congrats for your various achievements which you had kept under wraps so long.
Hi GS,
Like you, I reckon tags are great, if they're done in the right spirit!
Thank you for your kind words - as always.
Take care
David
David,
I have never heard of this show before so I did a quick Google search and found out prizes in the past have included trips to Hawaii, and Paris, Volvo cars, Louis Vuitton luggage, plasma televisions, Harley Davidson motorbikes and giant cash jackpots. And you toke home cutlery??
Ahhhh, just kidding ya!
Hi Debbie,
I just laughed uproariously at that comment - because you just said what so many of my colleagues said, word for word!
But cutlery - ah, very cutting edge!
My son was hoping for a drum kit!
Cheers
David
Hey, it's the man, himself! Wow, such a busy life.. I really enjoyed this further insight into your complex, and interesting life. I feel exhausted just imagining the pace you keep!
On National TV, wow, you are famous! I have never been to any game show, and I think I would be lucky to take home cutlery!
cheers, David!
:-)
Cecilia
Hi Shrink,
I'm a lucky man - greatly blessed. Simple as that.
Cheers
David
Hi Cecilia,
Not famous. Not by a long chalk! And if I dare to get a swollen head, my family will gently bring me down to earth in a gentle but meaningful way!
Cheers
David
David,
Except, if your colleagues had written what they said, I'm sure they would have all spelled the 1st grade spelling word took (not toke) correctly.
I told DH about your Game Show Prize and he said if he won cutlery instead of a trip to Paris, he'd be happy he could at least use it to slit his wrists. Morbid sense of humor, I know, but we did have a good laugh. Even though it was at your expense :).
Take care,
Debbie
Hi Debbie and DH,
That's pretty much what we've been laughing at, the past 48 hours.
Tell DH, like I always say - he and I are definitely related.
Same sense of humour!
Take care and have a great weekend with DH and the kids.
Cheers
David

The Chosen One
How does this work? Do I list the answer to the reveal seven little-known facts about myself and then tag how many people? I have no idea how this is done. I'll search around. Thanks for tagging me.
Dear David,
Hmmm..... this will take some work, I just wrote the "I'm weird" blog and unearthed some stuff....
Let me ponder on it.
Thanks for the tag, now I just need to find 5 people to tag back.... HA!
Slainte~
Rachelle
Oy, 7??? This will be harder than I thought!
Rachelle
Cool, I always wanted to be on a quiz show. BTW, do you know the origins of the word quiz?
If not:
The story goes that a Dublin theatre proprietor by the name of Richard Daly made a bet that he could, within forty-eight hours, make a nonsense word known throughout the city, and that the public would give a meaning to it. After the performance one evening, he gave his staff cards with the word 'quiz' written on them, and told them to write the word on walls around the city. The next day the strange word was the talk of the town, and within a short time it had become part of the language.
David,
I always remember how I blessed I am too. And yes, families and people who truly love us do this to us and we don't mind.... swollen head indeed, you? that'll be the day!!
:)

Hi TCO,
No worries - you can always count on my support.
Cheers
David
Hi Lissa,
Hope you had a great holiday. I guess it's upto each person to use the tag in whatever way they want.
Don't stress too much about it. And just do it at your own pace.
Cheers
David
Hi Rachelle,
No problem - post it when you have time. No stress, no drama.
Cheers
David
Hi Rachelle,
Just saw your other comment. Doesn't specifically have to be seven - just tag as many people as you can.
No problem.
Cheers
David
Hi HB,
What a great story. Thank you for sharing it with us.
I just had no idea of the origin!
Cheers
David
Hi Cecilia,
I'm with you all the way on the family issue. We are so very fortunate.
