Surf City Officials Are On A Short Fuse
US Army engineers who accidentally dumped sand filled with old military explosives on a beach in Surf City, New Jersey, now want the town to help pay to remove it. Local officials are angered by the suggestion that they should help foot the bill for a federal blunder that already has cost the town an unknown amount of tourism business.
``If they're talking about getting any money out of Surf City to pay for their mistakes, they can forget about it,'' Mayor Leonard T. Connors said. The town had to close its beach in March after World War I ordnance started surfacing in sand pumped ashore during a $75 million beach restoration project.
FOOTNOTE: Maybe they need an ordinance for the ordnance.

You're right, Bruno,
The Army engineers were ``serving USA'' instead of ``surfing USA''!
Grab your board and let's go, mate!
