Boot Camp

Police Chief Wants Heeling Touch

This ain’t Texas, it’s Florida. Police chief Bill Smith has banned the wearing of cowboy boots for all officers on duty. It all began when a Florida police officer crashed his squad car into a convenience store after his cowboy boot slipped off the brake. Michael Herko says he is embarrassed, but not opposed to a ban on the smooth-soled footwear, called ropers.

FOOTNOTE: Call in the faith heelers.

I would imagine any slick soled shoe would do that.

I bet the officer, blamed his boot other than his own clumsiness.

Ha! In Florida it is also illegal for anyone to drive barefoot...which is odd because toes can really grip.
