Normal Vision Will Be Restored Soon

Okay, so the weather bulletins last night told us to expect fog. But there I was, driving along in clear, fine conditions when it suddenly looked as though someone had rubbed jelly all over my windscreen. Yup, you guessed it. Fog. Not just any fog, but fog of Dickensian proportions. So I pulled over, found a safe park, put my hazard lights on and shot these two frames. The second shot, below, is taken at a tram stop (read trolley car, if you're in the US) . The setting was just right, because there was a thick old tree nearby and its foliage was in just the right spot for the surreal glow of the street lights. There's even an interesting reflection off the top of the tram stop.

reminds me of the exorcist movie poster...
the shelter makes me think of one of those paintings by the American artist whose name I can't recall - was it Hopper?
Hi David
Hope you aren't lost in the fog.
Mrs YesBut & Mrs Mop have both missed reading your humorous and imaginative captions on
http://yesbut-images.blogspot.com/
Hi David
I did read in your blog last week that your family had been hit by the dreaded “lurgi”. Glad that you are better.
Taking you as an example Ozlady should add to her list of signs of a dedicated blogger -
“keeps on blogging even as the undertaker tries to screw down the coffin lid”
“flu, broken leg, frostbite or even diarrhoea nothing stops me from blogging”.
Yes I did see the position of the blog on the weekly award. But I don’t mention it, if I did it would only lead to trouble between Mrs YesBut and Mrs Mop, each claiming credit. That’s why I remain silent, while at the same time feeling the glow of satisfaction.
Regards
YB
Hi Your Eminence,
Yep, I was sure looking over my shoulder when I got out of my car to take the shots!
Cheers
David
Hi Papoosue,
Hope you and the kids have got the wet weather conquered.
Hopper? Now you've got me - I'll have to find out!
Cheers
David
Hi yesbut,
Always good to get lost in the fog - you never know what pictures you'll be able to shoot!
Have already been back on your picture site to leave some captions - to make up for my absence for when I was crook.
Nice examples for ozLady. I'm sure she'll enjoy them.
Mrs Yesbut and Mrs Mop already contacted me to claim the credit!
Cheers
David
Welcome to the twilight zone!
Great pictures. I love to walk early in the fog--mornings though--with the pup because it's soooo much cooler and funky when you can see two feet in front of you;)
Oooooh, very atmospheric! Nice to know we're not the only ones blinded by fog and mists..
Two shining examples of the brighter side of fogs, caught by an amazing photographer on the prowl.
Rene.
Hi Cecilia,
All we needed was some frost as well!
Cheers
David
Hi Goddess,
Glad you liked the pictures. When I was a schoolboy in Darjeeling, we'd cop some amazing fogs because we were almost 7000 feet up.
Sometimes half the soccer pitch would be fog-bound and the other half would be clear!
Cheers
David
Hi Carol,
So many things in common.... we've had a couple of great fogs this year.
Cheers
David
Hi Rene,
Wish I'd been this interested in photography when I was in school. Think of all those amazing sights in Darjeeling that we always took for granted!
Cheers

Hi David,
Awesome shots, unbelievable. I find something very special whenever I come to your blog :-)
The creativity post is also excellent, in this context I want to share a quote of Dhirubhai Ambani.
"Think new, think fast, think ahead.
Ideas are no ones monopoly"
Thanks
Pijush
Hi Pijush,
Hope you're having a wonderful holiday. Thank you so much for saying you always find something special here.
It means a lot to get feedback like that.
Great quote from Ambani Senior, too. It's so true.
Cheers
David
