Wait Watchers

Hmmmm, Are You A Lady In Waiting?

Righty-o, I'm looking forward to the diverse comments on this one. Two or three days ago I saw a report that British men spend almost a year of their lives waiting for their wives or girlfriends, according to a survey for clothes website Miss Butterfly. The average man spends 22 weeks alone, waiting outside shop changing rooms while their wife or partner tries on clothes.

They will also spend nearly a week of their lives sitting in their car before picking up wives or girlfriends from ``girlie nights out''. Six out of ten men say it drives them crazy, and one in ten were so annoyed by it they had dumped their partner. But one in five men said they got their own back by eyeing up other girls in the store.

FOOTNOTE: Surely it's not a case of ``Britannia rules the wives''.

Well it just goes to show what blokes will put up with, only one out of ten stopped the relationship because of it. I think its a testament to the patience of men.

G'day Your Eminence,

You, as the occupant of the (Bendigo) Vatican, would know all about patience.

I know one family where the situation is completely reversed, where the wife waits long hours for her husband to preen!

Wouldn't dare to say anthing against Mrs YesBut.

But - I do seem to spend half my life waiting for her to "get ready" before we go out.

Why on earth would a woman want to drag her hubby along to shop with her, when all she needs is his credit card??

I fully agree with Carol. :)

LOL! What woman would want their hubby/boyfriend pickin' them up from Girls Night Out? Ha! None that I party with!

The only time this happened to me was when my wife dragged me out by the scruff of the neck to make me buy clothes for myself.

Otherwise, no way was I allowed to interfere in the sacred rites of Shopping.

Interesting. I would love to see a study of how much time women spent waiting for the husbands to come in from work or from a night out with the boys!
In my household it would be inverted. My husband has four shirts to my one, spends 30 minutes primping compared to my ten etc. Lol.

DH buys virtually all my clothes. So I rarely go shopping. So he rarely waits outside the dressing room. But when I do go shopping, and he does wait for me, he better not be eyeing anyone else!

Needless to say, I dont mind it and incase she is reading this, I love it honey. Let us still try to keep this between just us guys... Siddharth

The wedding's still on, right? All I cans ay in relation to your comment, Siddharth, is this old proverb:

I agree with you David. The wedding is still on track. In fact now sometimes we feel very annoyed cause its still quite some time away. Anyway, time will fly, I am sure. Hope your plans of being there are working out just fine.... Siddharth

Ha - I'm with Peg Bundy and Carol on this one!!!

DH waits for me more than he cares for in the morning... but it's not the primping that keeps him waiting... it's me dragging my sorry arse out of bed.

As for shopping and nights out - we're about even on that. DH likes to shop more than I do, and we both go out about evenly... and I while I appreciate a lift home on the tame nights out, I can find my own way when they get a little wild!! ;0
