Shuttle Footage On Chicago Baby Monitor
A Chicago teacher doesn't have to turn on the news for an update on NASA's space mission. She just turns on her video baby monitor. Since Sunday, one of the two channels on Natalie Meilinger's monitor has picked up black-and-white video from inside the space shuttle Atlantis. The other still lets her keep an eye on her baby. ``Whoever has a baby monitor knows what you'll usually see,'' Meilinger said. ``No one would ever expect this.'' Live video of the mission is available on NASA's website, so it's possible the monitor is picking up a signal from somewhere.

Just goes to show Big Baby Brother is everywhere.
I was just visiting. You have quite an excellent blog with all the great photos and clever wit.
Well, I have to go. I need to try to find someone with one of those monitors, so I can see the spacemen.
It actually sounds like some ET/alien movie! What if the signal is actually coming from the baby???? (twilight zone music...) sory, David, was just being facetious! :-)
We have a similar, but not exactly the same phenomenon at Towson U. Our radio station is pumped through the power lines, to increase on campus reception in some buildings regardless of where you are inside.
Occasionally, though, we'll have bands in the Union building, and when guitar amps are plugged in to those circuits, you can hear the radio station through the speakers.
I may have a cross promotional idea for you, for pretty much every blogger that visits. I got this idea when you had me stretch a bit with my camera. You could give out photographic "assignments" that bloggers could carry out and put on their own blogs. It would help people think outside the box and gain experience and confidence in photography, and be a neat little exercise in fellowship and cross promotion.
Hi Darlene,
I bow to you. You've said it all, in one sentence.
Perfecto!
Keep smiling

Hi Cecilia,
Lovely to hear from you. We'll have to get an X-files investigator onto your theory!
Keep smiling

Hi Bart-man,
Love that yarn - and I can empathise, as a person who has had a lot of exposure to guitar amps!
I think your idea is wonderful. Thank you, too, for your generosity in suggesting it. I've been thinking about something since Allan Cook and I first posted tag-team blogposts.
You've given me the impetus and I'm going to announce it this weekend.
Watch this space, buddy
Keep smiling
David
I will indeed by watching this space. Of course, I'd be doing that anyway. You're a multi day surfing must for me. And I'm all about the cross promotional stuff.
