Django Reinhart (1910-1953) of Liverchies, Belgium, became a famed jazz guitarist, despite having lost the use of two fingers of his left hand at the age of 18.
Not unlike heavy metal guitarist pioneer Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath, only he lost the tips of two fingers in an industrial accident shortly before Sabbath broke big. He uses these weird extension things and still managed to create a genre.
I know a lot of useless junk. Especially if it has to do with pop culture. I always used to say that if I had half the memory for important schooling related things as I did for pop culture minutiae, I'd have aced every class I took.
I recently rediscovered Django through my son, he listens to a wide range of music, but almost always for the guitar, I think he's setting his sights nice and high on this one!

Hi Bart-man,
I didn't know that! That's a great piece of trivia.
I should have had you helping me when I was on TV!
Keep smiling
David

And it must be twenty years since I last listened to Django and Stephane Grappelli on voilin.
Thank you for the reminder! Off to the music store...
Hi Bart-Man,
Well, you remembered the really important things!
Cheers
David
