Trivia Pur$uit

The QE2 was built at the John Brown shipyard on the Clyde in Scotland and was known only as "Job number 736" until she was officially launched by the Queen in September 1967.

And now Dubai World Cpmany owns "Job Number 736" for $100 million. I remember reading somewhere that QE2 was named not after Queen Elizabeth the second who launched her but after Queen Elizabeth. Thats why to distinguish her from Queen Elizabeth II, its called QE2(the Arabic numberic as opposed to Roman numeric) and not QE the second
