Fish 'n' Chips With Curry Powder, Guv
A celebrity British chef hopes to woo ``over-spiced'' Indian palates with her version of ``bland'' British food. Manju Malhi is in the Indian capital, New Delhi, to present a 40-part TV series promoting British cuisine. British cuisine has failed to tempt Indian tastes, but Malhi says she will right that wrong. ``British food is good if you know how to cook it properly,'' she said.

David,
DH loves the bland food of England. Which is probably why I never know what to make for him. If you can make something that tastes like water in sold form - he's all over it.
Ooops that would be solid not sold.
Hi Debbie,
Tell DH that's completely out of character and therefore unacceptable.
I thought he'd be all over salsa and chilli.
I might have to come round and have a talk to this bloke!
Nonetheless, I hope he had a great Father's Day!
Cheers
David
As a Brit, I hate to admit this, but other than the traditional Sunday roast, there's little to shout about as far as our traditional cuisune is concerned..
I'd like to see them try to "spice up" black pudding. GAH.
Hmmm…I'm going to watch this.
David,
As the owner of a Mexican restuarant this makes it even more out of character from what most people expect of him.
DH enjoyed a nice bland Father's Day dinner of roast and mashed potatoes and gravy. Hope you enjoyed your day as well!
Shrink Wrapped Carol,
DH respe3ctfully disagrees wholeheartedly. You are forgetting fish and chips as well as trifle with Birds Eye Custard.
Hi Carol and Debbie,
I was brought up on bland food as well, despite growing up in India.
Butu when I developed a taste for food-with-character, I never looked back.
And hey, the Sunday roast I do is SEN-sational. Everyone come over to my place next Sunday!
Cheers
David
Hi Bart-Man,
Hmmmm. Is it possible to spice up black puddin'?
I think not, my erudite friend. And I'll pass at the taste table ...
Cheers
David
Hi Shashikiran,
You'll have to critique the TV series for us, while we waited with bated breath!
Cheers
David
Hi Debbie,
That's exactly what I thought. Right into the flame-inducing hot food.
But tell DH that I'm with him on fish and chips (and tartar sauce!).
Hope he had a great Father's Day and gt spoilt rotten. We dn't celebrate it until September, believe it or not!
Cheers
David
Bland? BLAND??
You haven't tasted my mummy's food!
Hi BTBear,
Did I say bland? Never - not judging by that MAG-nificent aubergine on your blog!
Cheers
David
