Hops Scotched

That’s Not Fruit Cocktail, It’s A Pour-Pour

The ``beersicle'', a beer icy pop, might be just thing for a hot day. But a suburban Washington restaurant is catching some heat from liquor authorities. Frank Morales began selling beer pops last week at his Rustico Restaurant, but the novel plan has hit a snag. State regulations require that beer be served in its original container or served to the customer immediately after it has been poured.

I'm shocked. An Aussie suggesting that any beer should be frozen? When I lived in Brisso I learned that each brewer had specified temps for their liquid gold. Variations were not only disallowed, the companies even threatened to cut you off from their product if you varied by more than three degrees. How times change.

Hi Catmoves,

Specified temps? I didn't know that.

How come you know such a lot about the amber nectar?!!!

Cheers

I suppose it would be okay if they froze the keg? Good luck with the popsicle stick for that....a fallen tree, perhaps?
