There's an air of reverence when you get the chance to photograph not one but two Rolls-Royces in a showroom. I rang Dennis Meehan, general sales manager at Trivett Classic Aston Martin, and asked if I could possibly rock up with my camera and spend some time shooting both beauties. Absolutely, he said. These are just two of the shots I took. Watch out for more over the next couple of days. By the way, they even popped the hood for me to get my head around the engine as well.

Ah, boys and their toys! Give me my old people-carrier, anyday.. it's less upsetting when the kids throw up in the back.
Hi David
Thanks for making your contribution to YesBut’s Images. Your captions have been superb. The first think I do every morning is to read the captions - it’s a great way to start the day.
You might have seen on my blog that I have started a new competition, inviting visitors to YesBut’s Images to vote on the best caption.
I gave long thought on whether to start the competition. There were +vs. and -vs.
-vs. - each caption is good, and there shouldn’t be any differentiation between one and another.
+vs. - it might encourage more people to participate, and it gives visitors to the site the opportunity to make a contribution, even if they might not want to submit a caption.
So let’s see how it goes.
I hope you will continue to post your captions. I’m also asking a big favour, will you please, through your blog, encourage your readers to post captions, AND towards the end of next week encourage them to vote.
p.s.
I am going to start another web site. NO! NO! NOT ANOTHER! Yes another which will be dedicated just to posting each week’s winning caption.
Dang. I can't even afford the hood ornament, let alone the car!
Off-Topic a little maybe... Hi David, thank you for your comment.
I've got a Nikon D-80 with the standard zoom lens (extravagant divorce present to myself).
And I've found this site which has lots of diagrams and what look to be good illustrations.
I've got some nice pics with point and shoot, but I can't help feeling I'm wasting a lot of the potential of the cam.
Potential like these shots... you get the luxury of the cars beautifully! Looking forward to more.
Nice photos. I could never own a car like that. I would be too afraid to drive it.
Oh David, you give great photo! These cars look as luscious in your photos as they do in reality and I know that this is not an easy thing to accomplish.
Hi Luke,
I'm with you on that score! I was trying hard not to breathe on the Roller!
Keep smiling
David
Hi yesbut,
Great to hear from you. Of course I'd be happy to do that. No worries at all.
Yes, I'll continue to post captions. I enjoy it and I'm sure others will too, whn I continue to promote your blog.
Watch this space ....

Hi Goddess,
Will send you a fridge-magnet R-R hood ornament for Christmas. Now I have to find one for you!

G'day Chertmeister,
Cameras are like quitars - you use them in the way that you envision best.
Will check out the site. But BTW, I enjoy your photographs and have said so often on your blog. You are using your camera in a way that satisfies you and that's what counts.
It's a learning curve, for sure - and I think you;ve given me an idea for a good post, so watch this space.
Will link the post to you

David
Hi Chertiozhnik,
Just realised the other comment was from you as well. I will certainly post some more. Stay tuned.

Hi Luke,
Glad you enjoyed the pictures. Even if I did have the cash for a Roller, I'm not sure it's the car for me!
I'm not a look-at-my-Rolex kinda guy!
Haven't had as much time to visit blogs as I'd like to, but you are up there on my list.
Keep smiling
David
Hi Lin,
Interesting you should say that. The lighting made it hard to get the shots wthout reflection from above.
It was an interesting challenge!
Thank you for your generous words.
Keep smiling
David
great fun david!
the wicked child in me imagines how much fun it would have been to add my fingerprints here and there giggling fiendishly whilst an angst ridden *Charles* madly polishes behind me..
Hi Karoline,
I'm with you on that prank!
Cheers
David
